The Persnickety Bride – Stylized Bridal Shoot – with Donna Cheung Photography
On April 12th, Donna Cheung and I got together to create not one but two stylized shoots for submissions for wedding magazines and wedding blogs around the northeast and nationally. Anyone who has ever worked with me know that you need to get your “Big Girl” pants on and work hard to keep up with me. Everything was pulled together really nicely with all our selected vendors. We have gotten a great response from many publications as well as from brides and their families who have seen these shoots appear those far. I have three children that do some modeling and acting so of course this gave me an opportunity to put their skills to great use. Although the shoots were a little unorthodox for what you would see in a typical wedding – these kids were just terrific and honestly I don’t think we would have achieved the level of notoriety without them. I thank my model mom friends who allowed us to photograph their gorgeous kiddos. Certainly these pictures are a great addition to any portfolio!! So without further adieu my readers – I present to you the Donna Cheung and The Persnickety Bride Spring Shoot at Crabtree’s Kittle House – Chappaqua, NY
First we start off with the gorgeous bride and groom our couple models: Aja Knowles and Micah Stratton Our children models (left to right) : Ethan C., Aeryn C., Melo L., Isabella C., and Tatum S.
The gorgeous couple again and their sweet purplishious girls and handsome ring bearer All bridal party accessories – The Persnickety Bride, Newtown, CT Dresses and Wedding Gown: Julie Allen Bridal, Newtown, CT Hair and Make up done by Beauty Entourage, Newington, CT Tuxedos: Zemo Mens Wear Store, Stamford CT
Creating a theme around rich deep purple, lighter lavender, with yellow and gold highlights make for a fabulously inviting stationery suite – Created by The Persnickety Bride of course
We took our formal table out into the garden to give it a beautiful backdrop of foliage with the fresh bright pop of yellow from the floral arrangements created by Flowers by Danielle, Monroe CT Table linens by White Plains Linens, Peekskill, NY Table scape design / shoot design : The Persnickety Bride, Newtown, CT
A simple lavender menu card sits on beautiful Tiffany Platinum place setting
We took a couple gorgeous shots with wedding jewelry and head pieces. This stunning rhinestone clip, necklace and earrings are all available at The Persnickety Bride. We selected these pieces as they gave a classic yet bygone feel to the lace dress
Then we tried the netted bird cage which looks very chic as well but we were so in love with the look of the rhinestone clip we went back to it for the rest of the shoot.
Love this fabulous colorful bouquet by Flowers by Danielle, with little direction she did a lovely job.
Going for the dramatic we paired up our matching sets (that can be made in all sorts of colors) for a chic dark purple look of card box, wedding congratulations book and pen set.
I love these cooks by my friend Marcie Cake Creations for The Persnickety Bride You can get cookies sent all over the country just by dropping us a line – the tags looks great and colors were a perfect match!
Our lemony confection cake was made by Cakes By Donna in Hamden, CT
Now of course like with any shoot involving kids you have to have a little fun! Our kiddos just loved goofing around and Donna Cheung caught it all! The Cute!!
The crazy faces – not meant for publication!!
The behind the scenes friends who helped so much (our kid’s assistant agent Chelsea)
The obligatory kids model looking shot!!
And of course I have saved the best for last the totally sexy wine cellar shot that I will only give one because they are so steamy and being considered for print publication we need to keep a lid on these … let’s say the bride and groom were not around the children or the “guests” when these shots were taken … hmm hmmm I want to thank Crabtree’s Kittle House in Chappaqua, NY for the great use of their venue Most importantly to all the vendors and models mentioned above for their help in pulling this together so nicely. Of course this great shoot was created by Donna Cheung Photography in Greenwich CT
