Up and Coming Bridal Trends for 2018

The Persnickety Bride is lucky to have such great friends in the bridal industry. With the latest trends from the hottest cities, we will give all the need-to-knows for this wedding season.

Headpieces

Our great friends at Marionat told us all about the items that showed in Chicago for the Bridal Market this March. Hair vines, headpieces with multicolored stones, rhinestone spray pieces, and rose gold or gold headpieces are all trending this year!

Crowns and Tiaras are also making a big comeback. They are showing in a number of different styles and size to match any bride's look on her wedding day. Go for a big Crown or a petite Tiara. Ladies can get one that wraps around her bun or one that will lightly rest on the top of her head.

Veils are still in and becoming more popular every day. Brides are getting more fingertip length veils or cathedral length veils that are extra wide. Edging is also really popular. Veils are being accented with 3D flower appliques, lace, and beaded edging. (For more on veils check out our pervious blog)

Gowns

We spoke with our representative from Justin Alexander to get the in the know on gowns. Since there are so many unique brides, Justin Alexander strives to have something that can match any bride's needs. From fit and flair to ball gowns and A-lines, they have classic styles of dresses. Not only that, but they also carry pant suits, tea-length gowns, and two-pieces for the unconventional bride.

When asked what different styles are being shown this year in comparison to previous years, we were told that many companies are going for a "cleaner" style. There is little to no lace and beading. We are also seeing a lot more long sleeves and capped sleeves this season in contrast to the past few years where strapless dresses have been very popular. Brides are showing off their figures more with plunging bust lines that have illusion fabrics.

As for fabrics, brides are leaning more towards chiffon's and crepes. Brides are loving the ablility to move freely and feel comfortable. Satin is also making a comeback.

Brides are no longer wearing white. Many of Justin Alexander Gowns are no longer offered in white, but a variety of stylish off-white colors. Justin Alexander offers over colors such as lavender, misty rose, coffee, light gold, and champagne. Or for a bride looking to stay a bit traditional, she can always get an ivory, sand, or blush color.
